STUDENT PASTOR

Fresh Start is looking for an energetic, creative, passionate couple who are fueled by seeing the next generation of students come to know Jesus and serve Him with their lives. To reach and raise up a generation of students that will be the future leaders of the church and the world.

About this role:

The primary role of the Student Pastor is to introduce young people to Christ, disciple them in spiritual growth, and equip them to serve Christ. The Student Pastor also equips parents/guardians to disciple their children. The Student Pastor is responsible for providing planning, promoting, and coordinating assistance and direction for all education and activities for grades six through twelve.

Directly Reports to:  Executive Pastor

Strengths & Skills:

  • A love and passion for young people, evangelism, and outreach.

  • Willingness to relate to the unique needs of teenagers in today’s culture.

  • A self-motivated leader capable of creating and executing a long-term vision.

  • Strong strategic planning and administrative skills.

  • Excellent relational skills to communicate with students and parents.

  • A working knowledge of creative programming for student programs and events.

  • A basic knowledge of computer programs and software (Planning Center, Pro Presenter, etc.)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and organize effective programs for students that combine fellowship, worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, and evangelism.

  • Recruit, train, and shepherd all student ministry volunteers.

  • Plan and execute services for students that are biblically accurate, culturally relevant, and high-energy.

  • Create and manage a student ministry calendar that drives all events, activities, and teaching within the ministry.

  • Integrate the mission and vision of Fresh Start Church into student ministry goals and activities.

  • Be an active presence in local high schools with periodic visits to engage students at school.

  • Educate, encourage, and facilitate student participation in church-wide community outreach initiatives.

  • Cast vision for, teach, and plan retreats and camps with music, messages, games, and activities that inspire students to learn about God.

  • Assist in developing the annual student ministry budget and responsible stewardship of the budget.

  • Serve as a member of the pastoral staff by performing and participating in baptism services, funerals, etc. as related to the needs of students.

  • Provide counseling and spiritual direction to students on a regular, individual basis.

  • Maintain contact with students and parents to keep them informed of events and activities and maintain a ministry strategy that encourages involvement.

  • Collaborate with other pastoral staff to support parents in effectively fulfilling their Christian parenting roles and duties.

Personal Responsibilities:

  • Tithe a minimum of 10% of your income to Fresh Start Church.

  • Be loyal to the vision and mission of Fresh Start Church and protect the unity of the church.

Your Team:

This position is part of the Pastoral Leadership Team and will work with a team of volunteers to build up the student ministry of Fresh Start Church.

Your Schedule:

This is a full-time, salaried position around 40-45 hours a week.

FACILITIES MANAGER

Goal:

To ensure all maintenance and facility needs are met so that the grounds of Fresh Start Church are excellent and ready to welcome guests. 

About this role:

The Facility Manager serves as the coordinator for all church facility and property operations in support of Fresh Start Church’s ministry and activities. The Facility Manager is responsible for ongoing maintenance, emergency repairs, and operation of church buildings and the completion of all maintenance and repairs whether performed by themselves, a church volunteer, or a contractor.

Directly Reports to:  Executive Pastor

Strengths & Skills:

  • Demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith and the mission and vision of the church.

  • Basic knowledge of building operation and maintenance requirements.

  • Practical skills for the completion of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, painting, etc.

  • An initiating leader and self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to effectively manage and delegate responsibilities.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work with volunteers and outside contractors with tact, courtesy, and sensitivity.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages and oversees church maintenance and repairs, including the coordination of tradesmen and the contacting and scheduling of contractors as required.

  • Provides basic maintenance services such as touch-up painting, lighting replacement, minor repairs, etc.

  • Oversees contracts for lawn maintenance, window washing, carpet cleaning, waste management, grounds keeping snow removal, and all professional maintenance of exterior church property.

  • Oversees the construction and installation of interior and exterior church improvements including the upgrading of A/V, security, electrical, and mechanical systems.

  • Assist staff with budget planning and execution of facilities-related improvements, construction, maintenance, and repair expenses.

  • Oversee new construction projects (including the development and administration of contracts) and serve as the primary contact with contractors.

Your Team:

This position will work with the Executive Pastor who will coordinate and communicate items needed to be done and conduct follow ups regarding jobs and timelines. 

Your Schedule:

This is a part-time, hourly position with approximately 20 to 30 hours a week expected.
